Fibres Exotica – working in the UK to promote and support fair trade to India and Nepal, providing a platform to the UK and Europe for some of the finest quality Mulberry Silk and Recycled SariSilk Yarns, Silk Fibres,  Silk Fabrics and wodden needles, hooks and other treen, at unbeatable value for both the Wholesale and Retail Markets.

Hi, I’m Nikki and I simply love silk and colour. Nothing shows off colour like silk does.

Personally, I’m also a knitter who is all about “big” yarn, am passionate about bright strong colours and just adore little trinkets to make life a little more smiley.

Fibres Exotica was born in 2010 because there are a great many more luxury yarns, fibres and other notions than just the ones my company Fluffenstuff is all about.

Fluffenstuff is all about “Dyeing and creating Knitting jewellery for Aran weight yarns and over!”. The focus is on the bigger yarns because when I set up Fluffenstuff, there were no self-stripping or other “Art Yarn” being produced in anything above 4-ply weight on the market.  It was all about the sock and shawl knitters.

However, in the course of my journey, I’ve also discovered that there there are other fibre artist out there that love silk as much as I have come to love it, in all it’s many guises, as well as using wooden treen to knit and crochet with, and also that love dyeing stuff themselves…  so I created a new entity – Fibres Exotica -  to sell it all with.

I’m working with companies in India to bring their goods to the UK. I also provide teaching about dyeing and other fibre arts, work with UK companies to bring you dyeing sundries and aim in 2011-2012 to also be working with Nepalese collectives to bring other yarns and goods to the site also.

The 5 year plan is to have a shop with workshop areas so that yarn, craft, dyeing, love and laughter can all exist in one happy place. Glad to have you along for the ride.
